Tartini - Trumpet Concerto in D Major (II. Andante)
Sheet music for trumpet
Info: | The Concerto in D major for trumpet was originated from the Violin Concerto in E Major (D. 53) that is a tone higher. The original piece was meant to be played with a trumpet in A that reaches notes difficult for a Bb trumpet. For this reason, we transposed the score to a lower key. |

Opus number: | D. 53 |
Artist: | Giuseppe Tartini |
Born: | 8 April 1692, Piran |
Died: | 26 February 1770 |
The artist: | Tartini has led a very varied life as a composer, violinist, theorist, and even a master swordsman! He wrote over two hundred concertos for the violin, as well as a similar number of chamber works for the instrument, predominantly influenced by Corelli and Vivaldi, but with a simpler tonal language. Unfortunately, Tartini's music is rarely found in the concert hall today, except for some notable transcriptions for wind instruments. |
