Nazareth - Odeon

Sheet music for violin

Info: Odeon is a choro composed by Ernesto Nazareth in 1910 made in honor of the Odeon cinema, located in Cinelândia, in the city center of Rio de Janeiro.
Date: 1910
Artist: Ernesto Júlio de Nazareth
Born: 20 March 1863, Rio de Janeiro
Died: 5 February 1934, Jacarepaguá
The artist: Brazilian composer and pianist, especially noted for creatively combining diverse influences into his music, not only of Brazilian music but also from the music of Europe, Africa and ragtime. A musician of classical training, he classified his music as "Brazilian tangos", since the Argentine tango and polka dances were considered fashionable at the time. His piano repertoire is now part of the teaching programs of both classical and popular styles, as Nazareth once served at the boundary between these two worlds.
