Info: Étude Op. 10, No. 3, in E major (sometimes identified by the names "Tristesse" (Sadness) or "Farewell (L'Adieu)"), is a study for solo piano. This is a slow cantabile study for polyphonic and legato playing. Chopin himself believed the melody to be his most beautiful one.

The artist: Polish composer and a virtuoso pianist of the Romantic era, who wrote primarily for the solo piano. A child prodigy, he completed his musical education and composed his earlier works in Warsaw before leaving Poland at the age of 20.
