Info: Tango in D (Op. 165, No. 2) was originally written for piano, as part of the suite España, Op. 165. Since it has been transcribed for classical guitar by Miguel Llobet, it has become one of the most important works of the classical guitar repertoire. A slow, romantic piece, it is played in the key of D major. It has also been arranged by Leopold Godowsky and others.

The artist: Spanish pianist and composer best known for his piano works based on folk music idioms. Transcriptions of many of his pieces, such as Asturias (Leyenda), Granada, Sevilla, Cadiz, Córdoba, Cataluña, and the Tango in D, are important pieces for classical guitar, though he never composed for the guitar. The personal papers of Albéniz are preserved, among other institutions, in the Biblioteca de Catalunya.
